Rockies | Wilin Rosario out of lineup

Tue, 02 Apr 2013 20:53:11 -0700

Colorado Rockies C Wilin Rosario did not start Tuesday, April 2, against the Milwaukee Brewers with SP Jorge De La Rosa on the mound. The team wants C Yorvit Torrealba to serve as the personal receiver for De La Rosa.

Fantasy Tip: Rosario will still get a majority of the starts for the Rockies over the veteran Torrealba, but keep an eye on the probable pitcher if you play in daily formats. You want to sit Rosario April 8 against the San Francisco Giants, which is the next probable start for De La Rosa.

Rockies | Jorge De La Rosa looks good

Wed, 13 Mar 2013 15:56:26 -0700

Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa struck out six hitters in four shutout innings Wednesday, March 13, and he was pain-free during the outing. "It's easy to feel comfortable when you don't feel pain," De La Rosa said. "I feel like myself again." De La Rosa is now hitting his glove as he raises his right leg in his delivery, which creates a timing mechanism that will let him get the ball into the right arm slot. He's also using relaxation techniques while on the mound.

Rockies | Jorge De La Rosa subpar on Sunday

Sun, 03 Mar 2013 23:34:15 -0800

Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa lasted a little over an inning in his latest exhibition turn Sunday, March 3, and he gave up one run and two hits and walked three. He also plunked an Oakland Athletics batter with the bases full in the first inning. After two spring outings, De La Rosa's ERA stands at 7.36, but manager Walt Weiss is pleading patience because De La Rosa hasn't been on a mound full time in a year and a half.
