Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said he is not looking back to his decision of hiring former offensive coordinator Greg Knapp and his zone-blocking scheme. RB Darren McFadden, in particular, struggled with the scheme, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry in 2012. "I'm not going to look back and try to say what could have, would have, or should have been," Allen said. "I'm looking forward to what we need to do to try to get this team better in the future."

Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer said offensive coordinator Greg Knapp told players at the start of the season his offense would take time to learn. The Raiders have struggled running the football and scoring points in 2012. "We're not going to come out and understand all the zone cuts and all the reads and have a real continuity with it up front with five guys working together," Palmer said. "He said it was going to take some time and these last couple weeks, we've really seen that progress come together and make consistent plays in the running game."

Oakland Raiders RB Taiwan Jones had just two carries in Week 10 with RBs Darren McFadden (ankle) and Mike Goodson (ankle) out of the lineup and he is expected to see limited touches again in Week 11. Offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said he needs to see Jones improve in pass protection. "We told him going into the game that the two things that we have to see improvement on is ball security as well as assignments," Knapp said. "Assignments not so much in the run game but in the pass protection and in the route running. That's still a part of his game that he's still improving on. We got to keep in mind, he's still a young player. I've got to see (that) in practice first, consistently. And I haven't seen it consistently in practice, and that's what we look for, is perfection in practice."

Oakland Raiders QB Carson Palmer said he has begun to ask teammates and players around the league about offensive coordinator Greg Knapp in order to get an understanding of his scheme. "I've talked to a handful of guys that are still with the Raiders who played for him when he was with the Raiders a couple years back," Palmer said. "I've asked around plenty, and I've gotten my hands on some 2010 film, some older Texans film, where they were kind of doing some of the same stuff with the long playaction stuff and what excites me about it is it sounds like it's a lot of play action, a lot of boots, and throwing the ball down the field, and using, it sounds like we're going to use that speed we have on the outside and try to throw the ball over people's heads."

Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp said he has spoken with QB Carson Palmer roughly six times since joining the organization and believes the two will have a good working relationship. "I've heard all these great things about him before I got here and since I've been here," Knapp said. "Talking to him on the phone about a half-dozen times, and I think I'm just as excited to work with him as he is to work in our offense."
