"Pat (McKenzie) doesn't feel the same way about Jermichael as he felt about Nick (Collins)," McCarthy said. "So I'm very open and optimistic about Jermichael coming back. I think the specifics of their injuries are different."

Packers | Coach expects changes to defense

Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said the team will continue to use the 3-4 defensive alignment as their base defense but will also be using multiple defensive looks next season. "We were not as multiple maybe this year as we've been in prior years really because of the stress of injuries on that unit so we want to get back to some of the things that we did very well in the past and make sure we're carrying enough packages to utilize all of our players," McCarthy said. "We obviously need to get better on defense, and I think these moves that we've made on defense will definitely put us on that path."

"The University of Texas, Austin is a great city. My daughter obviously grew up there, but I am proud to be a Green Bay Packer," McCarthy said. "It's an honor to hold this position. This is home for me. This is home for my family."

Tavecchio went 9 for 11, missing wide right from 45 and wide left from 63. Ramirez went 10 for 11, with his miss coming from 45 yards. The situation of who will kick for the Packers remains fluid. "There's a job available and someone needs to jump through the door and take it. That hasn't happened yet," Packers coach Mike McCarthy said.

"I totally disagree. I don't know how you can put the tape on and say the Green Bay Packers aren't physical." McCarthy added the team plays the same way it did during their Super Bowl campaign. "How do we play any different from the approach, the identity today that we did in 2010?" McCarthy said. "How do you swing that far? You don't go from here to here." The Packers are a passing team that struggles to run against base defenses. On defense, they have ranked 26th each of the past two seasons in average yards allowed per rush.

Fantasy Tip: Jennings has a very friendly fantasy schedule the rest of the way, but just how much he will get to play is uncertain. The Packers have little need to rush him back with the way their offense has clicked of late. Head coach Mike McCarthy said Jennings will be able to return this year, and without having more information, count on him missing at least three to four more weeks. Stash Jennings in all leagues and consider trading for him if you can land him for pennies on the dollar.
