NCAA head coach Charlie Weis, who coached Kansas City Chiefs QB Brady Quinn at Notre Dame, said he still believes Quinn can become a starting quarterback in the NFL. "Brady could have been a starting quarterback for me in the NFL," Weis said. "Go back and look at those numbers for the two years he played for me. He was great. He wasn't good. And I know if I had him as a quarterback, I would have felt very comfortable that I could have won no matter where we were."

Kansas City Chiefs parting offensive coordinator Charlie Weis called all of the team's plays during their playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens, according to a team source, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter. A previous report suggested head coach Todd Haley stripped Weis of playcalling duties at halftime of the loss. However, a Chiefs source insisted that Haley did not take over playcalling duties from Weis and that Weis called every play in the game. Weis and Haley got along for most of the season, but lately their relationship had deteriorated to the point where it would have been difficult for each to work with the other for another season. Weis recently accepted a job to become offensive coordinator at Florida.
