Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner said that people would be surprised about TE Gary Barnidge. With TE Jordan Cameron (hamstring) dealing with a minor hamstring injury, it would not be a surprise for Barnidge to make a run at the starting job in camp, according to ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi.
Fantasy Tip: Barnidge is a name to keep an eye on if Cameron continues to have issues staying on the practice field, especially early in the season.

The Cleveland Browns have stocked up at the running back position, and it might have to do somewhat with the injury history of RB Trent Richardson. However, it also has to do with the uncertainty at the fullback position, where FB Owen Marecic might be used much under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner.

Cleveland Browns offensive players have raved about their first impression of OC Norv Turner's scheme. "Defenses will be shocked to say the least with how much we're running downfield,"WR Josh Gordon said. WR Greg Little said Turner "calls more post and go routes than I've ever run before."ESPN Stats and Information cites that the Browns threw the ball 10 yards or fewer downfield on 73.3 percent of their 2012 passes, and 20 yards or more on only 9 percent.
QB Brandon Weeden, not the confirmed starter but the presumed leader, is more comfortable out of the shotgun, not the timing-based, three-step-drop setup run by Pat Shurmur last year.
Fantasy Tip: The Air Coryell elements in Turner's vertical-based game give Gordon and Little some fantasy sleeper potential and should sustain Trent Richardson's RB1 stock. It's a stretch to say Weeden, if he gets the gig, will be anything more than a low-end No. 2 fantasy QB, but he could be useful in the right matchup plays for bye weeks. Keep an eye on the development of talented but unpolished TE Jordan Cameron, as well.

Cleveland Browns WR Travis Benjamin has impressed the coaching staff with his sure hands this offseason. He averaged 16.6 yards per reception in 2012, and his speed has offensive coordinator Norv Turner trying to figure out how to take advantage of Benjamin's speed.
Fantasy Tip: Benjamin should be left for your waiver wire in fantasy football drafts, unless he drastically moves up the depth chart.

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner's system is throwing a lot of passes to the running back position so far this offseason. RB Trent Richardson caught 51 balls last year, but RBs Dion Lewis and Montario Hardesty have also shown the ability to catch passes.
Fantasy Tip: Watch how the pass distribution and playing time on third downs plays out in the offseason, particularly the preseason. Richardson could see fewer passes come his way in 2013.

Cleveland Browns FB Owen Marecic remains on the roster but may struggle to find a role in new offensive coordinator Norv Turner's system, because it rarely uses pure fullbacks.
Fantasy Tip: Marecic is a thumper and may see time in goal line situations to help pave the way for RB Trent Richardson. Turner's offenses have produced successful fantasy backs before without a fullback, so Richardson should be confidently taken as a No. 1 running back this year.

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner said the team is working with QB Brandon Weeden to play faster and make quicker decisions this season. Turner said Weeden has improved his footwork a lot this offseason and is working on improving his play under center.

San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews said players eventually grew tired of former head coach Norv Turner's message and tuned him out. "I think we were just complacent," Mathews said. "The time that we spent there - we spent a lot of time there - it was the same thing over and over again. There wasn't anything new. I think he did everything he could to try to make us win no doubt about it. I just think we really got complacent to where we were and what we were doing and thought we were owed to win games." According to Mathews, talent has never been an issue for the team. "We all had the talent," Mathews said. "I think it was just going through the same routine, doing the same thing over and over again. You go there and you do what you gotta do to get ready for practice, go to practice, get out of practice. It was kind of just a routine thing, it wasn't something new. I think the new coaches being in here is going to be good for us."
