The Cincinnati Bengals are on pace to set a franchise low in interceptions, and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has threatened change to correct that. The team has just six interceptions through 12 games. "I am going to start changing guys out if they don't start doing it better," Zimmer said after practice Thursday, Dec. 8. "I am tired of it. I am tired of guys getting balls caught on us. No interceptions. Not seeing stuff. I will change out guys. I am tired of it." The Bengals haven't forced more than one turnover in a game since Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The unit is hoping to emerge as a top 10 defense in the league. "Our depth is a lot better than it was; a lot of the guys getting to play last year have helped," Zimmer said. "The biggest thing you notice is we don't have a whole bunch of glaring weaknesses. Linebackers, ends, safeties are probably our three deepest positions. Zimmer had to learn a new defensive scheme last year as the team switched from the 4-3 defense to a 3-4 scheme. Parcells said, "A big difference - I'd say he's much more comfortable. He is considered among the top coordinators in the league. It's interesting that Dallas would let him enter the final year of his deal, especially since head coach Bill Parcells and owner Jerry Jones have been consistently complimentary of Zimmer.
