Bengals | Zimmer says defense deeper this season

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer says the team's defense has more depth this season. The unit is hoping to emerge as a top 10 defense in the league. "Our depth is a lot better than it was; a lot of the guys getting to play last year have helped," Zimmer said. "The biggest thing you notice is we don't have a whole bunch of glaring weaknesses. Linebackers, ends, safeties are probably our three deepest positions. I don't know if anything has surprised me (in the last month), but I know we're playing better in the red zone and we have better communication."

"I believe we're going to be a better pass-rush team," said Sims. "I believe I'm going to be a better pass rusher myself. He's letting us go a little more. He's letting us go and do our thing."
