The Miami Dolphins may be interested in Kansas City Chiefs assistant head coach Maurice Carthon, Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave, former New York Giants quarterbacks coach Chris Palmer, Dolphins wide receivers coach Karl Dorrell, former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye and University of Wisconsin Paul Chryst as candidates for their offensive coordinator position, reports Brian Biggane, of the Palm Beach Post.

Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports the Cleveland Browns interviewed OC Jeff Davidson for the team's offensive coordinator position Saturday, Jan. 6. Davidson took over for Maurice Carthon after Carthon resigned from his post in October.

Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon was fired Monday, Oct. 23. WKYC-TV's Jim Donovan first reported the story and said Carthon was told by head coach Romeo Crennel in a late afternoon meeting Monday he was being relieved of his duties. Offensive line coach Jeff Davidson appears to be inline as the next offensive coordinator, but no official announcement has been made.

Scott Petrak, of the Medina Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel will take a slightly more active role with the offense heading into Week 7. However, offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon will continue to call the plays.

Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel has not ruled out making changes to his coaching staff during the team's bye week. "We're going to evaluate that and we'll see what happens," Crennel said. Offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon has been widely criticized for his play-calling this season and could receive help from assistant head coaches Jeff Davidson and Terry Robiskie.

Terry Pluto, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports former Cleveland Browns QB Trent Dilfer, traded to the San Francisco 49ers, did not think much of Browns' offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon's gruff personality, and even moreso, his unwillingness to allow a veteran quarterback much freedom to change the offense. No one can be sure, but these charges against Carthon have been whispered by other players. Like many young coaches, 2005 was Carthon's first season calling plays, he wanted to keep tight control on what his offense was doing.

Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel is sticking with offensive coordinator Maurice Carthon, even though he was not the most popular coach amongst players. Crennel said, "It's not all hunky-dory. Maurice is one of those hard-nosed, old-school coaches, and some guys have to get used to it." Crennel admitted he was not thrilled with having the NFL's lowest-scoring offense.
