Brewers | Ford Tough Enough?

Thu, 19 Jun 2003 18:17:54 -0700

The AP's Arnie Stapleton reports Milwaukee Brewers P Matt Ford, a Rule 5 draft selection, is being considered as an option for the starting rotation, according to Milwaukee manager Ned Yost. The team may move struggling SP Glendon Rusch out of the rotation, which would clear a spot for someone else on the team. "The problem that you run into is his (Ford's) pitch count hasn't been extended," said Yost. Ford, who pitched in A ball last season, threw 52 pitches over four scoreless innings in relief in a game on Thursday, June 19.
