Sheldon Mickles, of the Advocate, reports New Orleans Saints CB Fred Booker is now wearing No. 30, after wearing No. 23 last season. S Omar Stoutmire has taken over No. 23. When Booker was asked if he'd sold his number to Stoutmire, he laughed and said he didn't have much of a say in the matter. "That's what happens when a new (coaching) regime comes in," Booker said with a smile. "You just get on the boat and try to ride on."

Mike Triplett and Brian Allee-Walsh, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports New Orleans Saints CB Fred Booker could be promoted to the 53-man roster from the practice squad. The move would only be made if S Jay Bellamy (shoulder) is placed on the Injured Reserve before Sunday, Oct. 2.
