The Cleveland Indians placed OF Grady Sizemore (back) on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, April 4. Sizemore will resume baseball activities "in a couple weeks." The team also purchased the contracts of INF Jose Lopez and RP Dan Wheeler from the minors and placed SP David Huff (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list. OF Thomas Neal was designated for assignment.

Veteran RP Chris Ray retired the first two batters he faced before loading the bases and allowing a two-run single. The trio are among the competitors vying for the final two bullpen spots.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Indians RP Dan Wheeler will make $900,000 if he's on the major league roster in 2012. He'll make $50,000 for every five appearances from 45 to 70. He'll receive $50,000 for 35 games finished, $75,000 for 40 games finished and $125,000 each for 45 and 50 games finished.
