Royals | Brian Anderson could be considered for relief role

Kansas City Royals minor league P Brian Anderson, currently pitching for Triple-A Omaha, has allowed two earned runs and six hits over 12 1/3 innings this season, according to The Associated Press. He has struck out 11 while walking four in three minor league stops. "He's definitely throwing major league stuff," manager Ned Yost said of the former outfielder. "He's got his fastball up to 97 mph and his comfort zone is 95." Yost said Anderson's slider is major league-caliber, but his command is slightly below average. It is not known if the Royals will recall him when rosters expand in September but he could be given consideration for a bullpen role next spring. "When he first did it, I wasn't sure it'd work out for him, but he's proven to me that it very well may," Yost said.
