Marlins | Justin Bour out of the lineup

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 15:41:32 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup against Washington Nationals SP Jordan Zimmermann Tuesday, July 28. 3B Casey McGehee will start at first base and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and will return to the lineup soon. McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is batting only .212 since joining the Marlins and is not a great option for owners on FantasyScore.

Marlins | Casey McGehee playing third base

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 12:33:47 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee is batting fifth against San Diego Padres SP Odrisamer Despaigne Sunday, July 26. INF/OF Derek Dietrich, who played the hot corner Saturday, July 25, will play left field and bat sixth Sunday.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has just three hits in 19 at-bats this month and is 0-for-2 versus Despaigne in his career, making him a somewhat risky FantasyScore play today. On the other hand, Dietrich ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) is batting .371 with a pair of home runs this month and is worthy of consideration for your lineup.

Marlins | Justin Bour out of the lineup

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 08:10:06 -0700

Miami Marlins 1B Justin Bour is not in the starting lineup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Cole Hamels Sunday, July 19. 3B Casey McGehee will start at first base and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Bour ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) likely is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has gone 4-for-12 with four RBI since joining the Marlins but may not be a great option against Hamels.

Marlins | Casey McGehee hitting cleanup

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 13:10:48 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee is starting at third base and hitting cleanup against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Friday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee will be a cheap daily option, but even in a matchup against Morgan and while hitting cleanup, he's not a strong pick for FantasyScore users. McGehee will likely serve as the team's starting third baseman as long as Dee Gordon is on the DL, making him a short-term stopgap in NL-only leagues.

Marlins | Casey McGehee likes new team

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 16:19:52 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee went 1-for-4 with two RBI in an 8-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, July 12, and he has four RBI in two starts since joining the Marlins.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee had one of his best years with Miami in 2014, and after struggling with San Francisco to start the year, he is off to a fast start in his return to the Marlins. Make sure to check out his price tag at FantasyScore when he is added to the player pool. He could make a solid sleeper.

Marlins | Casey McGehee delivers in first start

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 19:52:34 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee went 2-for-5 with two RBI and run scored in his first start since joining the team Saturday, July 11.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee was awful for San Francisco this year, but he did hit .287 with 76 RBI for Miami last season. If he can recapture the magic now that he is back with the Marlins, he could end up being a useful sleeper a FantasyScore when he is added to the player pool.

Marlins | Casey McGehee in lineup Saturday

Sat, 11 Jul 2015 11:22:11 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Casey McGehee will bat fifth against Cincinnati Reds SP Raisel Iglesias Saturday, July 11. 3B Derek Dietrich is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee, who is not available in FantasyScore today, is making his first start for the Fish since rejoining the club. He is batting .219 overall with two homers and 11 RBIs through 51 games and doesn't hold much value currently in any fantasy format.

Giants | Casey McGehee in as DH

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 15:29:35 -0700

San Francisco Giants 3B Casey McGehee is batting eighth as the designated hitter against Seattle Mariners SP Felix Hernandez Wednesday, June 17.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) has only started one game since rejoining the Giants Friday, June 5, and facing Hernandez could prove daunting. It would be wise to avoid McGehee outside of NL-only leagues, and even there, he doesn't hold much value.

Giants | Casey McGehee to receive a start

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 14:52:06 -0700

San Francisco Giants 3B Casey McGehee will receive a start at third base during the team's series against the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend. 3B Matt Duffy will remain the starting third baseman for the time being.

Fantasy Tip: McGehee likely will be a bench player for now but could push Duffy ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) for the third base job if he plays well. McGehee should not be a fantasy option at this point but could be an option if he produces at the plate.

Giants | Casey McGehee cut

Sun, 24 May 2015 11:34:18 -0700

The San Francisco Giants have designated 3B Casey McGehee for assignment. As a result, 3B Matt Duffy will take over as the club's everyday third baseman.

Fantasy Tip: After driving in 76 runs for the Marlins last year, McGehee ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) hit just .200 this season with two home runs and nine RBIs in 35 games. Duffy ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) can be viewed as a low-cost flier in FantasyScore and is worth picking up in NL-only fantasy leagues.
