John Clayton reports for ESPN one week after releasing LB Jeff Kelly, the Atlanta Falcons have re-signed him. The Falcons released Kelly by withdrawing their $563,000 tender offer last week. He was approached by three teams. The Falcons then re-signed Kelly at the $563,000 salary, but if he suffers a season-ending injury, his salary would drop to $200,000.

John Clayton reports for ESPN the Atlanta Falcons withdrew their one-year, $563,000 tender offer to LB Jeff Kelly making him an unrestricted free agent. They feel he doesn't fit in their new 3-4 scheme.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Falcons have tendered one-year deals to exclusive rights free agents: WR Mareno Philyaw, PK Jay Feely, LS Derek Rackley, QB Doug Johnson, OT Dave Kadela, DT Ron Moore and S Corey Hall. The team also tendered one-year offers to restricted free agents: C Todd McClure, LB Chris Draft and LB Jeff Kelly.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Falcons could tender offers to some of their free agents as early as Thursday. They likely will tender one-year offers for about $563,000 to LBs Chris Draft and Jeff Kelly and C Todd McClure. If some other team wanted to sign one of them, the Falcons could match the offer or the other team would owe the Falcons compensation in the form of draft picks.

AtlantaFalcons.com reports the team has released WR Eugene Baker, FB Kevin McLeod, TE Dallas Neil, PK Jake Arians, DT Ron Moore, T/G Wes Shivers and T Paul Snellings, and rookies DE Randy Garner, S Corey Hall and WR Shawn Mills. They reached an injury settlement with CB Elijah Williams and waived/injured LB Corey Atkins. They also placed LB Jeff Kelly on injured reserve. Of course as previously reported, they released QB Eric Zeier to get to the 53-man roster limit.
