Royals | Brayan Pena expected to see majority of time

Kansas City Royals C Brayan Pena is expected to see the majority of time behind the plate over C Lucas May for the rest of the season, according to MLB.com's Dick Kaegel. "Pena will probably play four days a week and Lucas May might play three. Brayan may play five and Lucas two," manager Ned Yost said. "And there'll be weeks when Lucas will play four and Brayan will play three. We'll kind of just mix it up and get a good look at both of them." Pena started just 14 games all year prior to Wednesday, Sept. 1. The team could also bring up another catcher from the minors later.

Kansas City Royals C Jason Kendall (shoulder) is out for the season after it was announced he'll undergo right shoulder surgery on Friday, Sept. 3, according to The Associated Press. C Brayan Pena and C Lucas May will share the catching duties. Kendall could be back anytime between May and July of 2011.
