Fantasy Tip: Given the way Puig has burst on the scene and provided the Dodgers with a spark, this isn't a surprise at all. Andre Ethier has been swinging a hot stick of late, but he'll be the loser in the outfield alignment when both Kemp and Crawford are healthy.

He stretched, ran sprints and did a series of agility drills but reported that his hamstring was bothering him, meaning he is unlikely to be activated from the disabled list when he is eligible to return Friday, June 14.

Kemp will play in at least one minor-league rehab game before returning. Fantasy Tip: Mattingly's timetable would have Kemp returning next weekend, so those in weekly fantasy leagues will want to keep Kemp reserved at least one more week. Wait until he is officially activated and able to make it through one full game without any setbacks before plugging him back into the active lineup.

RP Stephen Fife (shoulder) was activated from the DL and optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque, and C Tim Federowicz was recalled from Albuquerque. Fantasy Tip: Kemp has been a major disappointment for his fantasy owners. He missed two months last year with a hamstring ailment, and his second-half power and speed suffered. This hamstring injury isn't believed to be as serious, but it could linger if he's not careful. Scott Van Slyke will reap the benefits of more frequent playing time with Kemp out, making him more intriguing in deep mixed affairs. Skip Schumaker and Jerry Hairston Jr. might be mixed in at center field, too. Federowicz could be an addition to NL-only rosters that start two catchers. Don't rule out the Dodgers getting desperate and summoning Joc Pederson or Yasiel Puig, either. Pederson wasn't in the lineup at Double-A Chattanooga tonight, meaning a call-up could be imminent.

The fact that Kemp is hitting just .251-2-17 on the year compounds the notion that some time off might be the route the team goes. Skip Schumaker figures to be the short-term answer in center, but it's possible the team could call up top outfield prospect Joc Pederson. He's hitting .313-8-22 with 15 steals at Double-A Chattanooga.
