Los Angeles Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley (elbow) is four weeks into a throwing program, and he is pleased with his progress. "My arm probably hasn't felt this good since high school," Billingsley said Monday, Sept. 16. "When you're a teenager you pick up a ball and just start throwing, not worrying about having to loosen up. That's how it feels now for the first time since I was in my teens. I'm really happy with how it feels and the way it's going."

The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled OF Scott Van Slyke from the minors Friday, May 10, and optioned INF Elian Herrera in a corresponding move. Also, SP Chad Billingsley (elbow) was moved to the 60-day disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: Van Slyke didn't turn any heads in his major league debut last year, but he has some pop in his stick. He has shown solid plate discipline at the minors' top level, but it remains to be seen if he can beat major league pitchers regularly. He'll likely serve as depth with Carl Crawford continuing to battle nagging injuries.

Los Angeles Dodgers SP Chad Billingsley (elbow) will need Tommy John surgery and will miss the rest of the season. Billingsley will have the surgery Wednesday, April 24.
Fantasy Tip: The Dodgers have had some tough luck with injuries to their starting pitchers in the last several weeks. Ted Lilly is filling in for Chris Capuano (calf) and Stephen Fife is the temporary replacement for Billingsley. The Dodgers may look to trade for some starting pitching now that they are bare in that department once again.
