New York Giants QB Sage Rosenfels completed 13-for-19 passes for 129 yards in the preseason opener Saturday, Aug. 13, against the Carolina Panthers. Rosenfels is battling QB David Carr for the primary backup job to starter QB Eli Manning. Carr sat out Saturday, and will get a chance in the second preseason game.

San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick (leg) is not fully recovered from his leg surgery but did participate in a workout Tuesday, May 31. Kaepernick took some warmup throws and made some passes at the beginning of the workout but allowed QBs Alex Smith and David Carr to take most of the throws during the workout.
