The Houston Astros have four catchers on their 40-man roster (Jason Castro, Carlos Corporan, Humberto Quintero and Craig Tatum) and may open next season with three catchers on their Opening Day roster because Castro missed the entire 2011 season with a torn ACL. Castro is currently playing for the Salt River club in the Arizona Fall League.

Houston Astros C Carlos Corporan (foot) is not expected to miss an extended period of time after leaving the game Saturday, July 23, with a bruised right foot. The backup catcher did not play Sunday, July 24, and is considered day to day.
