Mariners | Brendan Ryan sits Saturday, manager frustrated

Sun, 13 May 2012 00:49:41 -0700

Seattle Mariners SS Brendan Ryan, who is batting .149 this season, was rested Saturday, May 12, by manager Eric Wedge, and Wedge hinted more might happen in the future if Ryan doesn't turn it around. "Is there a level he has to reach to stay in the lineup?" Wedge asked, repeating a question. "You just can't be an out up there. There's no reason he shouldn't be better. He's not 25, he's 30 years old and it's time he figured out what he needs to do to be successful."
