Mon, 13 May 2013 17:02:38 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) has no timetable for his return after doctors determined that he hasn't healed enough to resume baseball exercises. Fantasy Tip: At this point it's probably safe to say that Hill won't be back until some time in June. Martin Prado, Didi Gregorius and Cliff Pennington will continue alternating at second base in the meantime. Willie Bloomquist (oblique) should be returning soon, also, which will complicate PT for Gregorius.
Fri, 10 May 2013 10:04:47 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) was told to leave his soft cast on for another week after he had some pain when he attempted to pick up a bat. He will visit with a doctor Sunday, May 12, and undergo a CT scan Monday, May 13. Fantasy Tip: This is a minor setback for Hill, depending what the doctor and CT scan find this weekend. The team was hoping he could return late this month, but that may have to be pushed back to early June. The D-backs will continue to mix and match in the infield with Martin Prado, Cliff Pennington and Didi Gregorius in the meantime. When Hill returns, Gregorius could be sent back to the minors if the Snakes feel he needs more minor league seasoning.
Fri, 03 May 2013 19:31:38 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) said Friday, May 3, that he is healing more slowly than everyone anticipated. General manager Kevin Towers said the best-case scenario for Hill's return is late May.
Tue, 16 Apr 2013 13:06:58 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said 2B Aaron Hill (hand) will be out for four to six weeks.
Tue, 16 Apr 2013 12:32:24 -0700 The Arizona Diamondbacks placed 2B Aaron Hill (hand) on the 15-day disabled list with a broken left hand Tuesday, April 16, and recalled SS Didi Gregorius from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Fantasy Tip: It remains to be seen if the D-backs will move Martin Prado over to second base if they feel Eric Chavez can handle third base. If not, Joshua Wilson can fill in at the keystone. Gregorius will likely provide middle infield depth; he's only played five games at second in the minors. Cliff Pennington could also be moved to second if Arizona wants to give Gregorius PT at shortstop. This situation is fluid. Willie Bloomquist (intercostal) is working his way back from injury, too, so he might be in this mix soon. Gregorius is worth adding in NL-only leagues because of his upside. Keep in mind, however, that his glove is much more advanced at this point in his career than his bat.
Sun, 14 Apr 2013 19:10:20 -0700 Updating a previous report, Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (wrist) had an X-ray on his left wrist Sunday, April 14, and he will have an MRI Monday, April 15, according to manager Kirk Gibson.
Sun, 14 Apr 2013 14:32:58 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (wrist) left the team's game Sunday, April 14, because of left wrist soreness.
Fri, 12 Apr 2013 18:15:45 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) was originally expected to be in the lineup for the game Friday, April 12, against the Los Angeles Dodgers, but he was a late scratch. Fantasy Tip: Manager Kirk Gibson said Friday that Hill's left hand was feeling better, so it appears a return will happen soon. If he can prove his health in one full game before lineups are due Monday, it will be safe to get him back into the active fantasy lineup.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 12:18:27 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill (hand) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 10, because he was hit in the left hand with a pitch Tuesday, April 9. Hill underwent X-rays on his hand but they came back negative. He may be able to play Friday, April 12.
Sun, 07 Apr 2013 20:57:30 -0700 Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill had three more hits Sunday, April 7, against the Milwaukee Brewers, and he is now batting .490 (25-for-51) with three home runs and eight RBIs in his career against the Brewers.
