The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with free-agent 2B Aaron Hill (Diamondbacks) on a two-year deal worth a little more than $10 million Sunday, Nov. 13, according to a source.

Free-agent 2B Aaron Hill is reportedly close to accepting a deal to return to the Arizona Diamondbacks, although the Detroit Tigers have also expressed interest in him.

Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said the team has extended a multi-year offer to re-sign 2B Aaron Hill, but they will pull the offer off the table if it isn't accepted by Monday, Nov. 14. "We made the offer maybe two-and-a-half to three weeks ago," Towers said. "I made it clear that this was our final and best workup and that we were going to give them a week-to-10 days to find out where the market was for him."

The Los Angeles Dodgers are likely to search for a veteran catcher to pair with C A.J. Ellis in spring training next year after losing C Rod Barajas to the Pittsburgh Pirates. C Tim Federowicz will likely begin the year in the minors. The team will also look for a second baseman and utility infielder, with candidates including re-signing 2Bs Jamey Carroll or Aaron Miles, or going after free-agent 2B Aaron Hill (Diamondbacks), SS Clint Barmes (Astros), OF Jerry Hairston Jr. (Nationals) or 2B Mark Ellis (Rockies).

The Colorado Rockies are looking at free-agent 2B Aaron Hill (Diamondbacks) and 2B Jamey Carroll (Dodgers) with free-agent 2B Mark Ellis (Rockies) uncertain to re-sign. The Detroit Tigers appear to have the most interest in Carroll, though. Trading for Atlanta Braves OF Martin Prado could also be an option.
