Brewers | Two Brewers sit out

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 07:57:11 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers OF Domingo Santana and 3B Aaron Hill are out of the lineup Tuesday, April 19. 3B Colin Walsh is leading off, and OF Ramon Flores is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Walsh is 0-for-10 on the season and isn't worth the flyer against Ervin Santana. Flores is hitting just .130 and isn't worth the start, either.

Brewers | Manager confident in Aaron Hill

Mon, 18 Apr 2016 15:49:32 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aaron Hill has manager Craig Counsell's support despite Hill's .167/.231/.167 slash line. "I'm not looking at it," Counsell said about a change at third base. "We've played 12 games. It's 12 games. We play 162 games; we've played 12. So I'm not there yet."

Fantasy Tip: Limit your exposure to Hill to cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, and given his struggles dating back to 2014 (.235/.287/.351 slash line), you shouldn't expect a big bounce back from the veteran. Additionally, the Milwaukee infield could add top-prospect Orlando Arcia in the coming months, which would project to cut into some of Hill's at-bats.

Brewers | Aaron Hill, Jonathan Villar out

Wed, 13 Apr 2016 14:44:42 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 3B Aaron Hill and SS Jonathan Villar are not in the starting lineup Wednesday, April 13. OF Colin Walsh is starting at the hot corner and hitting sixth, while SS Yadiel Rivera is at shortstop and is batting eighth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Mike Leake.

Fantasy Tip: Walsh and Rivera are not worth your attention in any fantasy formats.

Brewers | Aaron Hill will start at third base

Sun, 13 Mar 2016 13:09:44 -0700

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Aaron Hill will be the team's starter at third base, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Hill (.230-6-39) won't merit too much consideration in terms of fantasy drafting, but you may want to draft him in very late rounds of NL or mixed leagues and stash him away as an emergency.

Brewers | Aaron Hill to start at 3B

Mon, 22 Feb 2016 09:59:45 -0800

Milwaukee Brewers 2B Aaron Hill will be the team's starting third baseman, according to manager Craig Counsell.

Fantasy Tip: Hill still has a respectable batting eye and makes enough contact, but he continues to hit more ground balls and his speed is lacking. However, he could be a sleeper target in NL-only leagues with an everyday role in a good hitter's park.

Brewers | Chase Anderson to Milwaukee

Sat, 30 Jan 2016 15:54:06 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks SP Chase Anderson, 2B Aaron Hill, SS Isan Diaz and cash were acquired by the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, Jan. 30. The Brewers sent SS Jean Segura and P Tyler Wagner to the Diamondbacks.

Fantasy Tip: Anderson will benefit slightly from leaving Chase Field, where he had a 4.56 ERA at home last season. He was shelled in his only start in Miller Park, but he remains an option to round out your fantasy rotation. Hill will be 34 in March, and he has begun declining with a .230-6-39 line last year. A change of scenery could serve him well, though, and he's worth consideration for your MI spot.

Diamondbacks | Arizona looking to move Aaron Hill

Sun, 24 Jan 2016 10:51:35 -0800

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is a player that the Diamondbacks are looking to trade.

Fantasy Tip: Hill likely will be a bench player this season if he remains with the Diamondbacks but could start if he goes to another team. Hill probably should be considered as a late-round option in deeper leagues at this point but could have more value if he has a starting job.

Diamondbacks | Arizona discussing Brandon Phillips

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 10:33:54 -0800

The Arizona Diamondbacks are discussing a potential trade for Cincinnati Reds 2B Brandon Phillips that would involve 2B Aaron Hill, according to major league sources. However, Phillips has the right to veto any trade as a player with 10 years of major league service and five with the same team. The discussions haven't been serious yet, though, according to a source. The deal could advance to include more players and financial exchange. Phillips is under contract for $13 million next year but also is due $14 million in 2017, which could be a road block to a deal.

Fantasy Tip: At age 34, Phillips is a declining player that would be leaving one of the best hitting environments in baseball for a more neutral location. He's no longer a lock to hit 15 home runs anymore and probably will struggle to hover around .300 again in 2016.

Diamondbacks | Jake Lamb out against lefty

Fri, 02 Oct 2015 16:30:45 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb is not in the lineup against Houston Astros left-handed SP Dallas Keuchel Friday, Oct. 2. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has had limited at-bats this year and has only two home runs against southpaws in 2015. Ignore him in daily formats against one of the best lefties in the American League this year.

Diamondbacks | Brandon Drury out of Sunday lineup

Sun, 27 Sep 2015 11:25:58 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Brandon Drury is not starting Sunday, Sept. 27, against the San Diego Padres. 2B Aaron Hill is batting second against Padres SP James Shields.

Fantasy Tip: Drury ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has a .318 average in the past week, but Sunday appears to be a normal off day. Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has some success against San Diego with a .289 average, so he is worth the low FantasyScore price.
