Yankees | Yanks not interested in Aaron Hill

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 18:31:45 -0700

The New York Yankees do not appear to have interest in trading for Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) is batting just .222 with four home runs and 24 RBIs through 74 games while splitting time between second base and third base in Arizona. The Yankees will continue using Stephen Drew ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) at the keystone position for the time being, although they are looking to upgrade there.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill draws in against Brewers

Thu, 23 Jul 2015 14:03:32 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at third base and batting sixth against Milwaukee Brewers SP Mike Fiers Thursday, July 23. 3B Jake Lamb is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Lamb ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) has just three runs and five RBI with a .630 OPS over 15 games in July, so receiving a breather might help him kick-start his offense again. Hill ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) has a .212 batting average and .294 on-base percentage over 136 plate appearances against righties this season, so FantasyScore players should view him as nothing more than a low-priced dice roll.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill playing third base

Sun, 19 Jul 2015 11:19:34 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks INF Aaron Hill will bat seventh and play third base against San Francisco Giants SP Madison Bumgarner Sunday, July 19. 3B Jake Lamb is receiving the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is only batting .150 this month but has decent lifetime numbers against Bumgarner. In 33 career at-bats versus the lefty, Hill is batting .273 with three doubles, two home runs and six RBIs, making him worthy of consideration for FantasyScore lineups.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill drawing interest

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 19:04:50 -0700

The Arizona Diamondbacks have received interest from other teams in INF Aaron Hill.

Fantasy Tip: Entering play Friday, July 10, Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) was hitting just .216 with four homers and 22 RBIs through 67 games this season. He should only be considered in FantasyScore by owners needing cap relief.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill serving as DH

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 14:52:17 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh against Texas Rangers SP Matt Harrison Wednesday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has just one home run and a .242 average (15-for-62) against southpaws this year, but the D-backs lineup might be worth a stack on FantasyScore while going up against Harrison tonight, who is making his season debut.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill starting Sunday

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 12:20:06 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks INF Aaron Hill will play third base and bat sixth against Colorado Rockies SP Jorge De La Rosa Sunday, July 5. 3B Jake Lamb is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is 6-for-22 (.273) against De La Rosa in his career, with two RBIs. However, he has struggled at the plate this year, batting just .224 with four homers and 22 RBIs through 66 games. Only consider him for FantasyScore lineups if you need cap relief.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill starting at keystone

Wed, 01 Jul 2015 16:24:29 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at second base and hitting fifth against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brett Anderson Wednesday, July 1. SS Chris Owings is starting on the bench.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) isn't a great FantasyScore pick against Anderson, who has the highest ground-ball percentage of any pitcher in the major leagues this year. Hill has only 36 hits in 162 at-bats (.222) with three home runs and 18 RBI on the season. He has no homers and just two RBI against lefties.

Diamondbacks | Jake Lamb out vs. lefty

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 10:51:57 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Jake Lamb is not in the starting lineup against Colorado Rockies left-handed SP Jorge De La Rosa Thursday, June 25. 2B Aaron Hill is starting at the hot corner and hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is a very mediocre FantasyScore option today, but he is 6-for-20 (.300) with a double, triple and two RBI against De La Rosa in his career. The game is also in hitter-friendly Coors Field, giving you another reason to at least consider Hill as a deep sleeper value play.

Diamondbacks | Aaron Hill batting fifth

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 17:15:32 -0700

Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill is starting at second base and hitting fifth in the order Tuesday, June 23, against the Colorado Rockies. 2B Chris Owings comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Hill ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has two multi-hit games in his past five starts, although he has just one double and four singles in that time. Hill is showing patience at the plate, having drawn a walk in four of his past six games. FantasyScore owners can consider Hill for GPP use with the game being played in Colorado.

Nationals | Washington interested in infielders

Mon, 22 Jun 2015 13:24:59 -0700

The Washington Nationals are interested in the Arizona Diamondbacks' middle infield depth, which includes SSs Chris Owings and Cliff Pennington and 2Bs Aaron Hill and Nick Ahmed, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: None of these players carry a ton of fantasy value to begin with, but a move to a better lineup with the Nats could boost their value at least a little bit if they fall into consistent playing time. That's unlikely to happen in D.C., though, as they'd likely be in more of a utility role.
