Chicago White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) said his shoulder felt good while throwing soft toss Sunday, May 27, and hopes to keep doing his regular routine while on the disabled list. Danks hopes to avoid making any rehab starts before returning to the team.

The Chicago White Sox have officially placed SP John Danks (shoulder) on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder injury. In a corresponding move, the team recalled P Jose Quintana from Triple-A Charlotte.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) said he's not worried about his shoulder injury and believes he'll return June 4. He underwent an MRI exam Thursday, May 24, and manager Robin Ventura doesn't think Danks will need a rehab assignment.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) has been scratched from his next start against the Cleveland Indians Friday, May 25, and he'll be placed on the disabled list with general soreness in his left shoulder. P Jose Quintana will be recalled from the minors to take Danks' spot in the rotation. Quintana went 1-3 with a 2.77 ERA in nine starts with Double-A Birmingham.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks was charged with seven runs, six earned, and nine hits in seven innings of a 7-5 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Thursday, May 3. He's allowed seven or more runs in back-to-back outings for the first time in his career. Danks, who ranks third among American League southpaws with 50 wins since 2008, has a 6.51 ERA through his first six starts. He also committed two errors and has three this year, matching his total for his first five big league seasons.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks is struggling with consistency and command. Over his past four starts, he has allowed 15 walks in 24 1/3 innings, striking out just 16 and allowing four home runs. His ERA is also up to 6.23. "I'm not okay with it at all. I stole two wins and pitched like (crap) the other ones," Danks said Sunday, April 29. "That's way too inconsistent. That's the deal." Danks has struggled to command his changeup. Danks has thrown plenty of good ones - about one in every five has resulted in a swing and miss - but the bad ones have hurt. Without his changeup, he has essentially been a two-pitch pitcher, with a fastball and cutter.

Chicago White Sox SP Philip Humber's first turn in the rotation will be skipped with the team's game being rained out Tuesday, April 10. SP John Danks will start Wednesday, April 11, and Humber will go Monday, April 16, against the Baltimore Orioles.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks allowed three earned runs, six hits and no walks with six strikeouts over six innings in a quality start and loss against the Texas Rangers Friday, April 6. He fell to 1-5 in six career starts at Rangers Ballpark.
