San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) took a small but encouraging step in his recovery from a dislocated right shoulder, as he began hitting off a tee. "Swinging's not going to be a problem at all," said Sanchez, who sustained his season-ending injury June 10. He has lengthened the distance of his tosses to 75-80 feet, and he'll increase the frequency of his workouts from three days per week to five beginning next week.

San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) said he fully expects his surgically repaired right shoulder to be strong enough for spring training next season. If he isn't ready for the start of spring training, he expects to be good to go for Opening Day. Just to be safe, the team is expected to hold onto 2B Jeff Keppinger. Sanchez will resume throwing in December.

San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) had successful surgery on his right shoulder Tuesday, Aug. 2, in Arizona. His right labrum was repaired during the procedure. The team expects him to be ready for spring training.

San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) was transferred from the 15-day to 60-day disabled list Tuesday, July 19. Sanchez has started to swing and throw from 90 feet. The team will determine when or if he'll be able to return based upon how he responds.
