San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder, back) had an MRI which revealed inflammation in his back. Sanchez had an epidural shot, and he cannot do anything baseball-related for a couple of days. "He's a ways away, to be honest," manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday, May 16. "I really don't think about him a lot until he gets close. Nothing against Freddy, but I've got 25 guys here."

San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder, back) suffered another setback in his rehab, and this time it is his lower back. He has been shut down and sent for an MRI. "Another minor setback here," manager Bruce Bochy said. "He just tweaked it while playing."

San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) was able to play seven innings in an extended spring training game Wednesday, May 9, and he played in the field at third base. Manager Bruce Bochy said the team will evaluate him there going forward.

San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday, May 5, that it is "50-50" that 2B Freddy Sanchez (shoulder) will return sometime in May. Sanchez is in Arizona and is working on a throwing program.
