San Francisco Giants 2B Freddy Sanchez (back, shoulder) still has not given up on returning to the team this season. He hasn't played since June 10, 2011, when he dislocated his right shoulder, and he never made it out of spring training due to ongoing shoulder issues. Sanchez had surgery in July to address a compressed nerve.

Sanchez had an epidural shot, and he cannot do anything baseball-related for a couple of days. "He's a ways away, to be honest," manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday, May 16. "I really don't think about him a lot until he gets close. Nothing against Freddy, but I've got 25 guys here."
