Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (rest) was held out of the lineup Tuesday, May 21, as manager Bob Melvin gave him a scheduled day of rest. "He ran around a lot last night," Melvin said. "I have to keep him healthy. He wants to play, but he doesn't fight it. He understands. He does have an injury history because of how hard he plays, so it's our job to try to combat that."

Fantasy Tip: The switch hitter is off to a nice .283/.388/.556 start in 24 games and belongs back in fantasy lineups right away.

Oakland Athletics OFs Coco Crisp (hamstring) and Chris B. Young (quadriceps) are close to a return, but Young felt something in his quadriceps during a rehab game Monday, May 13. Crisp had a great day of running, and he could return before Young Wednesday, May 15. Young will play in another game Tuesday, May 14, and he could be rested through the end of the week.
Fantasy Tip: Michael Taylor's playing time will come to an end when Crisp and Young return. If Crisp is out there on your waiver wire, add him to your team now. Young figures to platoon in right field when he's back with Seth Smith. Both Young and Smith are worth roster spots in cavernous mixed formats.

Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin said OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) may run the bases Monday, May 13. Melvin did not rule out the possibility that Crisp could come off the disabled list when he is eligible Wednesday, May 15.
Fantasy Tip: Crisp likely will be added right back into the starting lineup when he comes off the disabled list. The team may decide to be cautious with Crisp and keep him out for a little longer, so owners should monitor the situation.

Oakland Athletics manager Bob Melvin said OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) may start running in a few days but there is no timetable for his return at this point. Melvin believes Crisp would return quickly once he begins to accelerate his rehab and may not need a rehab assignment before returning.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) has started taking swings off a tee since he's feeling better, and he could start running soon. However, OF Chris B. Young (quadriceps) is expected to be ready to return before Crisp. Both players can come off the disabled list May 16.
Fantasy Tip: With Josh Reddick (wrist) also on the DL right now, the Athletics are testing their outfield depth. Once both Crisp and Young return, Michael Taylor will lose his value for those taking advantage of his playing time in deep mixed leagues. Seth Smith should re-enter into a platoon with Young when the time comes, too.

Oakland Athletics OF Coco Crisp (hamstring) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring. He left the club's Monday, April 29, contest in the 13th inning because of the injury and sat out on Tuesday, April 30, the date to which his DL stint is backdated. The A's have called up C Luke Montz from Triple-A Sacramento to take Crisp's place on the 25-man roster.
Fantasy Tip: This is par for the course for Crisp. The injury doesn't seem to be serious, but the Athletics have played shorthanded here and there for the past couple of weeks. Chris Young's and Seth Smith's PT become a little more secure in the short term, so each may carry value in deep mixed leagues. Crisp will hopefully not need much more than the minimum on the DL.
