Updating an earlier item, JapanBall.com reports former major league OF Aaron Guiel has signed a one-year, $650,000 deal with the Yakult Swallows. The 34-year-old gets a $250,000 signing bonus, while Yakult retains a club option for a second year. Guiel last played with the New York Yankees in 2006.

Updating previous reports, New York Yankees 1B Andy Phillips and 2B Miguel Cairo have made the team's postseason roster, with 1B/OF Craig Wilson, IF Nick Green, OF Aaron Guiel, and RP Octavio Dotel having been left off, according to Ronald Blum of the Associated Press.

Mark Feinsand, of NewYork.Yankees.MLB.com, reports the New York Yankees have yet to announce who will occupy the final two postseason roster spots, however, IF Andy Phillips and 2B Miguel Cairo are the most likely candidates. The team will also carry three or four players with them on the road. Those players are expected to be OF Craig Wilson, OF Aaron Guiel and 2B Nick Green. The other players will likely return to the team's Tampa training complex to work out in case they are needed later in the playoffs.
