Updating previous reports, Seattle Mariners OF Mike Wilson has accepted his assignment to Triple-A Tacoma. He returned to spring training camp Saturday, Feb. 18.

The Seattle Mariners signed free-agent RP Shawn Camp (Blue Jays) to an undisclosed major league deal Monday, Feb. 6. C Chris Gimenez and OF Mike Wilson were designated for assignment in corresponding moves.

Seattle Mariners OF Greg Halman looked very poised and patient at the plate in his debut with the team Sunday, June 5. "He had a great day," manager Eric Wedge said. "Greg was very under control up there. There's a lot of ability in there, a lot of power, a lot of explosiveness. You watch his BP, and you look at him up there today. He was very disciplined, but up there ready to hit. It's great to see him come out and perform the way he did today."

Halman could become more than just a sub for OF Franklin Gutierrez if he continues to play the way he did Sunday. If Halman earns his way into the starting lineup more, it could come at the expense of OF Mike Wilson.

The Seattle Mariners have optioned 3B Matt Tuiasosopo to Triple-A Tacoma, according to MLB.com's Greg Johns. OF Mike Wilson and Ps Denny Bautista, Justin M. Miller and Royce Ring were reassigned to minor league camp. The Mariners still have 35 players in spring training camp and need to cut 10 more players before the start of the regular season.
