Uppdating a previous report, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said that team consultant Tom Moore has decided to retire. Irsay said Moore can return to the team if he wants.

The Indianpolis Colts announced Tom Moore will hold the title of senior offensive assitant coach, Clyde Christensen has been promoted to offensive coordinator, Pete Metzelaars has been promoted to offensive line coach and Jim Bob Cooter has been named offensive assistant coach.

Nancy Gay, of NFL FanHouse, reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning all but took over the playcalling from offensive coordinator Tom Moore and wide receivers coach Clyde Christensen during the second half of the AFC Championship Game. After seizing momentum with a quick-strike scoring drive with 1:13 remaining in the second quarter, Manning felt he had finally broken the New York Jets' defensive code. "From that point on, we really had a good bead on things. We were aggressive the first series of the second half. I was changing every play. Tom was calling some run plays. I just kind of got hot," Manning said. "And Tom, as he does, said 'Hey, you're hot - let's just keep it going.' And he has an ego when it comes to that. I just saw some things, was able to expose some things. And those were two huge drives."

Colts | Moore, Mudd return to former jobs

John Oehser, of Colts.com, reports the Indianapolis Colts have given Tom Moore the title senior offensive coordinator and Howard Mudd the title senior offensive line coach. Head coach Jim Caldwell said, "They'll be doing the same thing they've been doing. The 'senior' tag is added because of the fact it gives a little latitude in case they want to delegate a few responsibilities, which had been going on anyway throughout the years."
