Titans | Not planning more coaching changes

Thu, 29 Nov 2012 06:04:25 -0800

"I don't see any changes on the defensive side of the ball at all going forward. There won't be any more changes the rest of the year." Munchak said he fired Palmer because he felt a change was needed and because he has confidence in Dowell Loggains, the new coordinator and former quarterbacks coach.

Texans | O-Line Shows Improvement

Thu, 11 Aug 2005 20:06:09 -0700

Nick Schenck, of HoustonTexans.com, reports one of the Houston Texans' points of emphasis early in the preseason is to establish the running game. In his early evaluations, head coach Dom Capers has noticed the Texans' offensive line is faster off the line of scrimmage than in the past. That's a good sign for offensive coordinator Chris Palmer's unit, which suffered some growing pains learning the zone blocking scheme last season. "I just feel like with our running backs, if we can give (Domanick Davis) a little bit of a downhill entry, then he'll find a crease in there," Capers said. "But I think we're coming off the ball with more power, and I like our footwork. I think the coordination of the guys working together is the best it's been."

Bills | Johnson's Days Numbered

Fri, 18 Jan 2002 17:22:14 -0800

Continuing with an ongoing storyline, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports the end appears to be near for QB Rob Johnson in Buffalo. Bills' GM Tom Donahoe met with Johnson's agent, David Dunn, last week and things went "ok" but it appears Johnson would rather play elsewhere. The Bills don't want to give him a long-term deal, as they'd prefer one more year to evaluate him. It doesn't appear Johnson will accommodate that wish. Johnson, who has a cap value of $11.2 million in 2002, may be exposed via the expansion draft with hopes that Houston will bite. Texans' offensive coordinator Chris Palmer coached Johnson in Jacksonville.

Bills | Johnson - Flutie Debate Rages

Sun, 25 Feb 2001 20:53:02 -0800

Don Banks of CNN/SI reports with a decision due on Wednesday about the Buffalo Bills QB situation, despite earlier reports, the team may be leaning to Rob Johnson. As long as his contract restructuring talks go well, and they are expected to, Johnson may keep his job. League personnel officials and scouts say that the signs all indicate it's Johnson's job to lose, although Bills coach Gregg Williams and GM Tom Donahoe are keeping tightlipped. Williams this weekend said he planned to talk to Houston Texans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer. Williams said one of the few drawbacks he found in Johnson's game was his penchant for holding the ball too long and taking too many hits, but he feels the team's new West Coast offense will help that situation.
