Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman praised head coach Leslie Frazier and said ownership and management is behind him, even though there have been no talks of a contract extension to this point. "Leslie has done an outstanding job here," Spielman reiterated Friday. "He's been a great leader of the men down in the locker room. We expect him to be our coach for a long time. He's been outstanding at everything from leadership to development of young players, everything we're doing. We're just looking forward to getting ready for next year and anything from a contractual standpoint or anything like that will always be held internal, just like players. … There's no question of the support that our ownership group, myself, I think our whole organization has for Leslie Frazier."

Although Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier had his option picked up for 2014, a contract extension is not in the works, according to his agent. "There were no negotiations," Bob Lamonte said. "They extended the option. That's it. You can't have a long-term deal if you can't negotiate."

The Minnesota Vikings are prepared to enter into contract extension talks with head coach Leslie Frazier now that the season is over. "We're pleased with the job Leslie has done and as he mentioned we haven't really sat down and discussed anything at this point," owner Mark Wilf said. "But we're pleased with the job he's done in 2012 and we'll address it."
