Minnesota Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier said left tackles like Southern California OT Matt Kalil are not the game-changers that teams are expected to choose so early in the NFL Draft. "You've got to really weigh your options," Frazier said. "Because the philosophy (in the NFL) has always been to get the game-changer. And left tackle is not necessarily the game-changer. Usually game-changers are the guys who can score you points. Receivers. Quarterbacks. So what are we measuring that left tackle against? It's a loaded debate."

Former Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Fred Pagac was offered the team's linebackers coach position, leaving the status of assistant coach Mike Singletary up in the air. Singletary, who coached the linebackers in 2011, could either be promoted to defensive coordinator or looking for work elsewhere. Singletary is close friends with head coach Leslie Frazier.

Vikings | Juan Castillo could become DC

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Juan Castillo could join the Minnesota Vikings in the same capacity if the Eagles hire former St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo. Castillo has been close with Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier since their days together on the Eagles' staff from 1999 to 2002. According to league sources, there was mutual interest in a reunion shortly after Frazier was promoted from interim coach last January, to the point Castillo told people close to him he expected to end up in Minnesota.

My job security has never been an issue other than when I'm talking to you guys. That's the truth. We're going to get this thing turned eventually. We'll get it done."

Minnesota Vikings owner Zygi Wilf made it clear following Week 13 that head coach Leslie Frazier will return next season despite the team's 2-10 record. "Leslie will definitely be back next year," Wilf said. Wilf also said there might be some evaluation of the coaching staff, but he indicated that he didn't see any changes happening unless Frazier asked for changes.
