Packers.com reports Green Bay Packers special teams coach Frank Novak, during the past two mini-camps, has tried out Darren Sharper, Robert Ferguson, Charles Lee, Terry Glenn, Scott Frost, Javon Walker, Richard Lewis, and Jeremy Unerti to fill the position of punt returner. No decision has been made largely due to the no-contact environment of mini-camp.

The Journal Sentinel reports Green Bay Packers coach Mike Sherman wants someone on his current roster to replace Allen Rossum as the team's punt and kick returner. During the mini-camp that concluded Sunday afternoon, WRs Robert Ferguson, Charles Lee, Javon Walker and Richard Lewis and safeties Darren Sharper, Scott Frost and Jeremy Unertl were among those who fielded punts. RB Rondell Mealey and Lewis returned kickoffs. Ferguson is the leading candidate to return punts, depending if he is a starting a WR. RB Herbert Goodman is the leading candidate to return kickoffs, if he earns a roster spot. RB Dorsey Levens could be the guy, if he is re-signed.
