Updating previous reports, Paul Perillo, of Patriots.com, reports New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has been auditioning potential replacements for recently released P Ken Walter for several weeks now. Among those reported to have auditioned in the past weeks were former Ohio State P Brent Bartholomew, as well as Ps Steve Cheek of Humboldt State, Craig Jarrett and Filip Filipovic. Belichick was apparently unimpressed with each of their workouts and decided to stick with Walter until he was eventually cut Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Updating previous reports, the Washington Times reports the Washington Redskins have signed undrafted free agent P Brent Bartholomew after he impressed the coaching staff at his tryout at minicamp this past weekend. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
