Bill Williamson reports for the Pioneer Press that the Minnesota Vikings plan to bring in a veteran punter to compete with P Eddie Johnson. Head coach Mike Tice said the team could bring back Leo Araguz, who played for the team in the last two games of the season. Tice said Johnson is still being given a shot with the team, but also said that "he has to show that he is willing to do what it takes to perform at the NFL level. He has yet to do that, so we'll bring in a veteran for sure to compete with him."

According to a transcript of a radio interview from KMBZ-AM posted on KCChiefs.com, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil is most concerned about his team’s punting situation. P Leo Araguz and P Jason Baker are competing for the starting job. In addition, the winner of the competition would also handle kickoffs. “Right now we don't have a defined starter as a punter,” Vermeil said. “That's the only position we don't have a quality starter.”
