There aren't a lot of available quarterbacks, so it's possible Sherman won't have any choice but to stick with them.

"But that's a long jump." The team's other QBs are Josh Heupel and current No. 2 Doug Pederson. Offensive coordinator Tom Rossley feels Nall has a much stronger arm, quicker feet and a more durable body than Heupel.

Dolphins | Grievance Against Heupel

Tue, 09 Apr 2002 17:15:47 -0700

Associated Press reports the Miami Dolphins have filed grievance with the NFLPA and are asking Josh Heupel to repay about $83,000 in signing bonus, training camp pay and base salary for the two games he was on injured reserve for. Heupel has also filed grievance and is asking for $107,000 in base salary for the 16 weeks he wasn’t with the team for. The Dolphins think Heupel didn’t reveal a pre-existing wrist injury on forms given out before and after the draft. Heupel claims he injured the wrist during an exhibition game. Both cases will present their grievances in June.

Packers | Heupel Update

Thu, 20 Sep 2001 22:49:08 -0700

The Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers were in contact with Ross Levin, the agent for rookie QB Josh Heupel, but it does not look like anything will be done soon to bring him to Green Bay. Levin said Heupel, who was cut Wednesday by the Miami Dolphins, probably needs surgery on a tendon in his left wrist. If surgery were necessary, Heupel would be in a cast for two months and would need another five to six weeks to heal. Levin said the Packers interest would probably be with the practice squad, although they might choose to wait until after the regular season and sign him to the roster.

Rookie QB Josh Heupel hasn't practiced in more than a week and his future with the Dolphins doesn't seem as though it will extend past Tuesday, when rosters have to be down to 65.
