Angels | Shane Victorino draws into lineup

Mon, 31 Aug 2015 15:48:13 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino is batting sixth against Oakland Athletics SP Felix Doubront Monday, Aug. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino ($3,300, 6.6% of cap) lands in a great spot Monday, and he is worth considering at FantasyScore. He has been platooning with David Murphy ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) in left field with Victorino drawing in against lefties. Victorino owns a respectable .341 on-base percentage against them.

Angels | Shane Victorino leading off vs. Chicago

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 13:33:10 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino is starting in left field and batting first against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Monday, Aug. 10.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has just three extra-base hits this season over 120 plate appearances and is 2-for-12 since joining the Angels. With Sale ($9,400, 18.8% of cap) on the mound, there is no reason to target Victorino in FantasyScore contests Monday, especially in his current form at the dish.

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 10:23:30 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino is leading off and playing right field against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Saturday, Aug. 1.

Angels | Shane Victorino bats leadoff tonight

Thu, 30 Jul 2015 15:47:56 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino is making his second start with his new team Thursday, July 30, and will be batting leadoff against Houston Astros SP Scott Kazmir.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) had a satisfactory debut on Wednesday in which he recorded a hit in four at-bats while also scoring a run. When he's in the lineup, he's a decent daily option, as most players generally are when they hit right in front of the likes of Mike Trout and Albert Pujols. At the same time, though, it's hard to rely on him in standard leagues, as he'll be platooning in left field while going up against left-handers.

Angels | Shane Victorino to face lefties

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 17:45:35 -0700

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim plan to use OF Shane Victorino as their regular left fielder against left-handed pitchers.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is batting .343 with one home run and two RBIs in 35 at-bats against lefties this year, while only batting .190 with two RBIs in 63 at-bats versus righties. He can be viewed as a low-priced flier in FantasyScore.

Angels | Matt Joyce's time with Angels done?

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:27:49 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Matt Joyce (concussion), who is currently on the seven-day concussion disabled list, might not have a spot on the team anymore after the Angels traded for OFs Shane Victorino, David Murphy and David DeJesus in the last two days. Joyce was hitting .178 with five home runs and 21 RBI as the team's left fielder. General manager Bill Stoneman made no announcements on Joyce's future. Joyce was in an 0-for-23 slump and is hitless since July 9. Stoneman is hesitant to part with any of the team's top prospects, such as SP Sean Newcomb, in order to further improve the outfield.

Fantasy Tip: If you were holding onto Joyce ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) in a deep AL-only league, it's probably time to cut him. Victorino, Murphy and DeJesus could all see consistent playing time in platoon roles in left field and at designated hitter, but it could be a frustrating situation for fantasy owners to tread through.

Angels | Shane Victorino starting in LF

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:15:19 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino is making his debut with the Angels and is starting in left field and batting eighth Tuesday, July 28.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino's ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) fantasy value shouldn't change all that much with the move to the west coast, although he could see more stable playing time, especially now that Matt Joyce (concussion) is on the DL. He's merely an outfield depth piece in deep mixed leagues, and his daily value won't be helped at all if he hits near the bottom of the order.

Angels | Shane Victorino likely to play LF

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:48:22 -0700

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Shane Victorino likely will see most of his playing time in left field but will be able to help at all of the outfield spots, according to interim general manager Bill Stoneman.

Fantasy Tip: Victorino ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) should see a good amount of playing time with the Angels. Victorino has struggled at the plate recently, so owners may want to see how he plays with his new team before considering him as an option on FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Boston trades Shane Victorino

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:10:49 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino was traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, July 27, in exchange for 2B Josh Rutledge.

Fantasy Tip: Rutledge could be used as a bench player by the Red Sox if he is on the 25-man roster and could see playing time at second base because of the injuries the team has at the position. Owners should avoid using him until his role is defined.

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:09:18 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino was acquired by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Monday, July 27, in exchange for 2B Josh Rutledge.
