Red Sox | Shane Victorino needs rehab assignment

Fri, 01 May 2015 13:33:17 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) will need a short rehab assignment before he's activated from the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: With Victorino out, a combination of Allen Craig ($2,100, 4.2% of cap), Brock Holt ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) and Daniel Nava ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) have been filling in in right field. None of the three is worth owning past AL-only leagues, and they're all strictly weak matchup plays at FantasyScore.

Both outfielders are off to slow starts, though, and both are strictly low-end matchup plays at FantasyScore.

Red Sox | Shane Victorino still out

Fri, 24 Apr 2015 12:15:17 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup against the Baltimore Orioles Friday, April 24. OF Daniel Nava is batting seventh and playing right field Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to remove Victorino ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) from your fantasy lineups Friday, and this will be the second consecutive game he has missed with the injury. Nava ($1,800, 3.6% of cap) is a career .291 hitter against right-handed pitching and should see a few RBI opportunities batting behind the big bats in the Boston lineup. Nava is worth considering in FantasyScore contests, especially at his cap hit.

Red Sox | Shane Victorino scratched Saturday

Sat, 18 Apr 2015 13:08:29 -0700

Boston Red Sox OF Shane Victorino (ribs) was scratched Saturday, April 18, due to sore ribs.

Fantasy Tip: Daniel Nava ($1,800, 3.6% of your cap) and Allen Craig ($2,100, 4.2%) would likely split starts if the "Flyin' Hawaiian" is forced to miss more time. Nava would likely face righties and has been more productive than Craig. He's worth a low-end flyer on FantasyScore when he's in there.
