Free-agent OT Chad Clifton (Packers) said Friday, May 4, that he has no plans to retire from the NFL after being released after 12 years with the Green Bay Packers. "Right now, I'm back in Nashville, trying to get my back as strong as possible, just trying to get healthy, and we'll take it from there," Clifton said. "If there's interest, we'll see if I'm interested and kind of play it by ear."

Green Bay Packers OT Chad Clifton (back) underwent back surgery, and told head coach Mike McCarthy that he experienced "instant relief" from a source of pain that he struggled with down the stretch last season. "I want to see how he comes out of that," McCarthy said. "That will be a benefit. I saw him right after surgery. He said it was weird - that he had instant relief." The team has not made a decision on whether they'll bring back the veteran.

"I really don't know what they're thinking about for down the road," Bulaga said. "Right now, I'm a right tackle and I'm just trying to become as good as I can be there." Bulaga was drafted as Clifton's likely successor, but he has been primarily on the right side since former OT Mark Tauscher went down early in 2010.
