Paul Kuharsky, of the Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans WR Grant Mattos caught everything thrown his way, and those who've seen him regularly say it wasn't a one-day thing. WR Bobby Wade has looked good as well. Both drew praise from Titans' head coach Jeff Fisher. Mattos and Wade are getting a lot of snaps now since the team's other wide receivers are injured and sitting out. "Grant's made some very, very good catches here the last couple workouts, and Bobby's getting a good feel for getting open," Fisher said.

Frank Schwab, of The Gazette, reports Denver Broncos vice president of public relations Jim Saccomano said he has searched old files, including newspaper clips, and can't find anything that proves former QB Frank Tripucka's No. 18 was officially retired. So, in the wake of the new developments, Denver has re-issued the number for the first time in more than 30 years. WR Grant Mattos switched to No. 18 when WR Jerry Rice took Mattos' No. 19. In Denver's 2004 media guide the team listed three retired jersey numbers: John Elway's No. 7, Floyd Little's No. 44 and Tripucka's No. 18. Last year's NFL Record and Fact Book listed those three numbers as retired by Denver. Tripucka played for Denver from 1960-63, the team's first four seasons. "Who am I to judge who they should honor and what they should do?" Tripucka said, adding he was not upset by the decision. "I was honored, but what they want to do now ... that was a long time ago. A lot of people don't even know who the hell I was. But I enjoyed those times in Denver."
