Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers OG Bill Ferrario, who started at right guard in replace of injured OG Marco Rivera (knee) during the team's exhibition game against the Tennesse Titans earlier this week, had an up and down performance, according to offensive line coach Larry Beightol. "Hot and cold," Beightol said. "When he was out there with the first group going against their first group he was fine."

Wahle was the Packers starting left tackle last year, but lost his job due to poor performance on the field. Offensive line coach Larry Beightol said that rookie guard Bill Ferrario could contend for playing time but it's Wahle's job to lose. Wahle is glad to be given a second opportunity and he's working hard in camp to prove to the team he belongs in the starting line-up.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, it appears the Green Bay Packers will have plenty of competition and battles going on during training camp for starting jobs on the offensive line. Mike Flanagan and Frank Winters are both expected to compete for the starting job at center while Mark Tauscher and Earl Dotson may battle it out for the starting right tackle job. Rookie Bill Ferrario has caught the team's attention and could work his way up the depth chart at the guard position. Veteran Mike Wahle is currently working as the starting left guard, but his hold on the starting job could be pulled loose if one of the younger players really impresses the team.

The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers GM Ron Wolf completed his last NFL Draft before his retirement earlier today. Wolf was happy with his pick of who he considers another in a long list of sleepers, Wisconsin OL Bill Ferrario. He called him a "diamond in the rough," after he selected him with the 105th pick. The final pick of his Packers career was TE David Martin of Tennessee in the sixth round. He shared his final thoughts on the Packers draft, "We needed to get somebody who could attack the quarterback. We are confident we did that," he said. "We wanted to get a bigtime, a big receiver that could function in this offense. We did that. We wanted to solidify our offensive line with a quality player. We think we did that."
