Giants | Tom Obarski misses opportunity

Mon, 22 Aug 2016 00:03:26 -0700

New York Giants PK Tom Obarski missed a 28-yard field goal during his team's exhibition game against the Buffalo Bills, potentially putting his status as the Week 1 kicker in jeopardy. Regular PK Josh Brown is suspended for the first week for violation of the NFL's domestic violence policy.

Fantasy Tip: Obarski would have minimal fantasy value except in weekly leagues or fantasy contests, but missing one of these puppy shots will not endear him to New York fans. Your best bet is to go elsewhere if you need a backup kicker for Brown in the first week.

Giants | Not expected to use the franchise tag

Tue, 16 Feb 2016 09:41:04 -0800

The New York Giants are not expected to use the franchise tag, in the opinion of ESPNNewYork.com's Dan Graziano. DE Jason Pierre-Paul is not worth the $15 million because of the condition of his hand. CB Prince Amukamara won't be given $14 million. The likeliest candidate is PK Josh Brown if they want to re-sign him and can't get it done by the deadline.

Giants | Josh Brown could receive tag

Fri, 12 Feb 2016 11:41:34 -0800

New York Giants impending free-agent PK Josh Brown is a candidate for the franchise tag. He's coming off the best three-year stretch for a kicker in Giants history.

Fantasy Tip: Brown made 30 of his 32 field goal tries in 2015 (93.8%) and remains a top-notch kicker for fantasy owners. Don't expect the Giants to let him go.
