ThePittsburghChannel.com reports free agent LB Torrance Marshall (Packers) had an arrest warrant issued for him in connection with the trashing of a former girlfriend's house in Sheraden, Pennsylvania. The ex-girlfriend told police that when she got off work June 14, she found that her home had been ransacked. The damage, according to a police report, included clothes strewn around and bleach dumped all over them; mattresses sliced; electrical cords on appliances cut; and urine left on family photographs. Marshall had visited Pittsburgh earlier this month to "try and work things out" with the woman, police said. The police believe Marshall is back in Wisconsin.

Kevin Mannix, of the Boston Herald, reports with the uncertain future of New England Patriots LB Tedy Bruschi (stroke), the inside linebacker spot moves to the top of the team's offseason priorities this year. With a dwindling free agent market, two players the Patriots could consider is free agent LBs Rob Morris (Colts) or Torrance Marshall (Packers). The club could also invest a draft choice to bolster the position, but there is no legitimate first-round talent at inside linebacker this year.

Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers LB Nick Barnett (ankle) will test his injured ankle Tuesday, Dec. 2, by doing running and cutting drills. If his ankle is healthy enough, Barnett will likely practice Wednesday. His status for Sunday's, Dec. 7, game against the Chicago Bears will not be determined to later in the week. If Barnett is unable to play against Chicago, LB Torrance Marshall will serve as his replacement.

Green Bay Packers LB Nick Barnett (ankle) was unable to practice for the second day in a row Tuesday, Nov. 25, because lingering pain in his injured ankle. His ankle has made improvement in the last few days, but it appears that Barnett will indeed sit out Thursday, Nov. 27, against the Detroit Lions. If that is the case, LB Torrance Marshall will take over for Barnett as the middle linebacker and LB Na'il Diggs will take Barnett's spot in the dime defense.

Marshall played almost exclusively on special teams in his first game this season on Sunday, Oct. 5, against the Seattle Seahawks. He had just one snap on defense.

LB Torrance Marshall took all the snaps in his place, but coach Mike Sherman said Nickerson is not in danger of losing his job. Marshall had his number changed back from 41 to 51 and could see some playing time at linebacker in the near future.

His number was called on a screen pass and he caught the ball effortlessly. It's doubtful Marshall will be changing positions permanently, but he could see some action as a lead blocker.

"I have an idea about Torrance, he’s given us everything he has,” coach Mike Sherman said. “He’s worked extremely hard, he meets (with coaches) daily, not just mini-camps." The Packers are expected to bring in a veteran MLB, even if Marshall continues to impress. Currently, Marshall’s backup would be Chris Gizzi. The Packers will be studying the June 1 releases. They also have the option of waiting for training camp to try and make a trade or pick up a released player. "There isn’t another (middle) linebacker, so right now it’s my spot,” Marshall said.

Dotson took part in some team drills, and Brown was limited strictly to individual work.
