DetroitLions.com reports Detroit Lions LB Stephen Boyd (back) could miss a substantial amount of time due to a back injury suffered in Sunday’s game. Head coach Marty Mornhinweg said the team will know more on Boyd tonight or Tuesday morning, but Boyd could be out for a substantial amount of time. Mornhinweg said Boyd suffered a similar injury but the doctors have said that the injury is not career threatening. Mornhinweg said that the team might move LB Chris Claiborne from the weak side spot to Boyd’s middle spot while Boyd is out. Barrett Green would be put in at the weak side spot if the team takes that option.
