Updating previous reports, the San Jose Mercury News reports San Francisco 49ers DT D'Marco Farr (knee) is not through with his dreams to return to the NFL. While his return is done in the short term, his long-term goals will depend on the health of his knee. Farr will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee to determine the extent of the injury he suffered at minicamp last weekend.

While Farr has not made his decision official to the team, it looks as if he plans on calling his comeback quits.

The Contra Costa Times reports San Francisco 49ers DT D'Marco Farr (knee) injured his knee during the team’s minicamp and was forced to sit out the final practice on Sunday. As a result, head coach Dennis Erickson said Farr’s return to the NFL might be in question. “We’re going to sit down and talk about it,” Erickson said. “He may decide he does not want to play.”
