Randy Lange, of NewYorkJets.com, reports New York Jets recently signed OLB Andre Wadsworth (knee) is making the transition from defensive end to outside linebacker with the Jets. Wadsworth, a former first-round selection in 1998, said he is excited to be with the team and said he does not know what will happen in terms of the future. He said the only way he will quit is if his body quits on him. "If I was going to quit, it would've been long ago," he added.

Mark Eckel reports for the Trenton Times the agent for former NFL DE Andre Wadsworth said he has been contacted by 31 teams about his client, the Arizona Cardinals, his former team, being the exception. Eckel reports the Philadelphia Eagles could be a player for Wadsworth for several reasons: They have cap room, a need for a big defensive end, and Wadsworth and OT Tra Thomas are old friends from college.

Len Pasquarelli, of ESPN.com, reports DE Andre Wadsworth, a former member of the Arizona Cardinals who did not play during the 2001 season, could be ready to start working out for NFL teams in the coming months -- possibly even before the NFL Draft in April. Wadsworth, a former first-round pick, underwent microfracture surgery on his knee and has been going through rehabilitation.

The Arizona Republic reports Arizona Cardinals restricted free agent DE Andre Wadsworth did not attend voluntary camp on Tuesday. Coach Dave McGinnis said Wadsworth was at the team meetings at mini-camp but didn’t make it to practice. Although it’s voluntary camp, McGinnis expects everyone to be there so the team can learn their new playbook.

ESPN's John Clayton reports the Philadelphia Eagles gave Arizona Cardinals restricted free agent DE Andre Wadsworth a physical earlier today. The move may be more of a prelude to next season when Wadsworth will be an unrestricted free agent. Clayton says not to expect the Eagles to sign Wadsworth to an offer sheet. There is a good chance he could spend the 2001 season on IR as he recovers from knee macrofracture surgery. The Eagles now at least know his medical condition.

According to the Arizona Republic, Cardinals free agent DE Andre Wadsworth (knees) was at the team's facility on Wednesday, walking without crutches. He had surgery on both knees in January and remains questionable to be ready for training camp in July. Agent Roosevelt Barnes plans to file a grievance this week to have Wadsworth declared an unrestricted free agent instead of a restricted free agent. After voiding his contract, the Cardinals made him a restricted free agent when they tendered him a one-year, $512,000 contract.

ESPN reports Arizona Cardinals DE Andre Wadsworth (knee) underwent two surgeries Wednesday, one for a micro-fracture in his right knee, the other an athroscopy of his left knee. He is expected to need about six months to rehabilitate the right knee, but is expected to be ready for the start of camp.
