Philadelphia Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg said he's considered the idea of moving OF Marlon Byrd back to center field permanently, but he's decided against it. "Maybe a game here or there," Sandberg said. "He's doing so well in right field. It's hard to move him out of right field because he's doing such a great job out there. That's a pretty hard position, especially at our place. That's one of the tougher right fields to play."
Fantasy Tip: With Ben Revere struggling and dealing with an illness over the weekend, John Mayberry Jr. and Tony Gwynn Jr. have filled in in center. That could continue moving forward, too, leaving Revere's owners to reconsider if he's worth stashing on your bench.

Philadelphia Phillies OF Marlon Byrd retooled his entire swing before the 2013 season after he met hitting guru Doug Latta. "Marlon was really working against his body. He was coming around the ball. He was hitting in a real small zone. A hitter has to handle velocity, late movement, and location. So being able to stay in the zone longer gives him an advantage. If you create that energy through the ball, it gives you a little more lift. Obviously, the results speak for themselves," Latta said. As a result, Byrd became more of a fly-ball hitter.

The Philadelphia Phillies are looking for one more outfielder, even after signing free-agent OF Marlon Byrd. The Philadelphia Phillies have long coveted Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Peter Bourjos, but a deal hasn't happened in the past because a match doesn't exist between the teams. The Angels are looking for young, affordable starting pitching, and the Phillies are considered thin at that spot. If the teams are to agree on a deal, it likely will require a third team getting involved.
