The Associated Press reports a judge dismissed a criminal complaint accusing Green Bay Packers S Julius Curry of bilking a woman out of $50,000 in a real estate transaction, his lawyer said Tuesday, Aug. 23. Curry was ordered last month to stand trial on a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses over $20,000. He faced a possible prison term of up to 10 years.

Updating previous reports, the Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers S Julius Curry has been ordered to stand trial on accusations of bilking a woman out of $50,000 in a real estate transaction. Defense lawyer Anthony Chambers says Curry never intended to steal from Antoinette Richardson and offered to repay the money. Judge Walter Jakubowski of Warren's 37th District Court ruled there was enough evidence for Curry to stand trial. Curry has pleaded innocent to obtaining money under false pretenses over $20,000. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

The Associated Press reports Green Bay Packers S Julius Curry was arraigned on charges of bilking a woman out of $50,000 in a real estate transaction. Curry pleaded innocent Wednesday, July 6, to one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over $20,000. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of $15,000 or three times the value of the property involved, whichever is greater. Anthony Chambers, Curry's attorney, said Warren police have been "insufficient and unreasonable" in their investigation. "We look forward to (Curry) being acquitted of all charges and will aggressively defend the case," he said.
