Updating a previous item, doctors have told San Diego Chargers OG Kris Dielman (concussion) that the quality of his life will be much better if he decides to retire after sustaining a concussion in October that led to a seizure. A decision has not been made, but Dielman is leaning toward retiring.

San Diego Chargers OG Kris Dielman (concussion) is leaning toward returning after suffering a scary concussion in 2011, according to those close to him and team sources. If he elects to retire, his possible departure would free up $5.5 million in salary cap space, although that's money the team will happily pay to keep Dielman.

San Diego Chargers head coach Norv Turner said Monday, Jan. 2, that he would be excited to return in 2012. "I'd be excited about being back," Turner said. "I'd be excited about this team. I don't know that unless you're living it day to day, you can appreciate what these guys have been through, what this team has been through from a physical standpoint. They're responded and I do believe this team can go do some great things. We need to get better in some areas." QB Philip Rivers, C Nick Hardwick and OG Kris Dielman are among players who are supporting Turner.
